While Leftists Turn Up the Heat, The Republican Party Cannot Compromise on Our Values
As November and the midterm elections inevitably approaches, the Left has tried various strategies to mobilize their Democratic Party voting base. First, they tried to churn up opposition to the leaked SCOTUS draft which, if enacted, would nullify Roe v. Wade. That may still inspire Pro-Choice activism, protests and even riots, but we have yet to see. Even if so, this abortion talking point would not have been enough to blot out a red wave backed by people sick of exorbitant gas and food prices, soaring crime, repeated assaults on free speech, and a war-obsessed House and Senate, etc. etc. Now, however, Democrats and Leftists have disgracefully found their footing on the backs of the dead Uvalde children. The message is everywhere: Republicans are the party of mass shootings.
This appalling behavior from Democrats and Leftists is nothing short of sickening—but it is to be expected from the same sort of foul people who responded with joyous cries of “rot in hell” and “rest in piss” to the death of Rush Limbaugh.
This is just one of the many shameful strategies that the Left uses so effectively. And use it they will. Mark my words, over the course of the remaining months leading up to the midterm elections, every Republican who supports the Second Amendment will be branded as a child-killer by the despicable Democrat-aligned mass media.
This, I am afraid, reminds me of the “Daisy” ad that the Democrat Party aired way back when in 1964, when Barry Goldwater was running against Lyndon B. Johnson. Guns were not the policy back then, nuclear weapons were—but Johnson won in a landside.
But Republicans must not allow this political propaganda to get to them. To quote Kurt Schlichter, “Not one inch…The GOP better not give up one single inch on gun freedom.”
The appeal of squishing on the Second Amendment will never have as much appeal for the Republican Party as it will soon. Already we have seen cowardly behavior from the Republicans who pulled out of the NRA convention because of the bad optics. This Fall, nearly all Democrats will paint their Republican opponent as sick and evil—for the Iron Law of Woke Projection never fails.
But the truth of the matter is clear and undeniable to those who seek the truth. As we know now, while the gun-sanctioned cops failed to enter the building, the parents outside desperately tried to save their children. The Second Amendment was ratified not only to help the people protect themselves from government, but also to protect themselves. What many Republicans fail to understand or address is that a gun rights position is unquestionably the moral position to take, even though Leftists would pretend that it is not. Before the midterm elections, the Republican Party as a cohesive unit needs to make it clear that A. they support gun-rights and B. gun rights are moral. Ultimately, people want to do whatever is moral. As long as Republicans begin to demonstrate that their positions are moral, they will win in November.
If Republicans want to have the moral and Constitutional ground, they cannot compromise with Democrats on passing “gun safety” laws banning “assault weapons.” Come the midterm elections, the Republican Party cannot flag or fail to continue defending the Second Amendment, despite the abuse Democrats and the mass media—but I repeat myself—will hurl at them for doing so. ‘
America Forever,
Socrates Finch
